C’est vraiment marrant de voir des pubs du gouvernement américain pour leur lotterie de « green card ». C’est partout dans le métro et sur internet . Car lorsque j’entre sur un site,,,, on me prend pour un français avec mon fournisseur internet francais (voici un exemple de pub http://www.usafis.org/email_collect.asp). Alors sur www.imdb.com il y avait une bannière qui m’énervait… une bar de défilement qui me donnait mon « éligibilité » pour la carte verte américaine… SO I CLICKED ON IT…

C’est seulement bizarre de voir ca en France. Ils donnent 50000 cartes vertes par années… il me semble qu’ils n’ont pas besoin de faire de pub pour ca….je vous jure, on voit ca partout c’est temps-ci.

Vous croyez que c’est un façon « camouflé \ indirecte » de faire de la pub pour les US ? Car ca revient aux même que de dire – on est un pays tellement cool qu’on fait une loterie pour vous donner la chance de venir habiter chez nous…mais une pub qui dirait simplement : « We are so good ! Why don’t you love us ? » passerait moins bien.

Ou vous croyez que c’est vraiment car les US ne sont pas capable d’attribuer leurs cartes vertes ?

Je ne comprends pas bien ces pubs…..de la pub pour promouvoir leur pays ? Un vrai besoin d’applicants ? Une manière d’aller pêcher proactivement des terroristes ? ( go to them before they come to us…) ou un besoin de diversifier les origines des applicants. Pire, je viens de me rendre compte que c’est un organisme privé….. bon je viens de lire un peu plus sur ce site. C’est un organisme privé qui fait payer pour ce service…. Would explain it all no ? Merde, leur branding ressemble foutument à un site gouvernemental…. mais ce n'est pas le cas.

Wow ! l’intérêt mon article tombe à l’eau avec ca…… LOL Mais bon ! C’est évidemment qu’il y a un intérêt en France s’ils font toute cette pub. Donc il y a plusieurs personnes en France qui voudraient habiter aux US. Étonnant non ?

Off Paris-Plage

A while back Patrick Donovan asked that I write about Paris-Plage. Sorry for the delay Caballero.

The name Paris-Plage made me think of a “fake beach” in Paris. What a kitsch crock of shit I thought. But the name doesn’t help it at all. It’s not a plage, it’s like a festival along the Seine (roads are blocked off for the occasion). Loads of people, mainly tourists, walk along the Seine. You can bump into street performers, sculptures, temporary cafés with terraces, mini Mont-Royal Tamtam Jam sessions, concerts, minimalist picnic tables with nice Asian umbrellas, weird misty fountains ,,,and yes of course, some parts have “fake beaches” all with a touch of Brazil this year.

One great thing about Paris-Plage, and everywhere it seems in Paris, is you can drink alcohol legally in public. This makes it a lot easier to have a nice picnic. – - Also makes it easier to drink in the Metro – -

My main interaction with PP (I’m sure cool kids must say: “Alors les mecs? Ca vout dit d’aller draguer les minettes sur PP ?”) was to just relax in a café and read. Go for a drink with a friend and people watch. This city is so populated, people watching is becoming my hobby. I could do it for hours. Hi hi hi! ;)

The OPP could be seen as the people that hang out on the other side of the Seine and watch us. They don’t have all the fancy structures and all that…. but I’m sure they can do other legal things in public. It’s nothing official, but they are always people on the other side watching the PP goers.

If this is not a reason to fire this man….. I'm not sure what should be. Listen to this guy trying to pick up the pieces after… this is excellent. I wonder why this decision was made during the summer… when no one cares about this. This is simply ridiculous.

Imagine if these words were said of other Canadian minorities. I’m sure their lobby groups would have screamed REALLY loud against this. I’m not sure why this has not made people go in the streets. If anybody had, I think most people would have said these were extremists Quebecers….. I understand Canada is a peaceful country and we rarely see people protesting but this is incredible. But what is justified ? What is la Societé St-Jean Baptist doing against this ? What are the québécois lobby groups doing about this ? Do we have any? What is le PQ doing against this.
